FAQs
Do you offer in person therapy?
No, I only offer virtual services. This format has been scientifically proven to be just as effective as in-person sessions, and it also comes with several benefits that make care more accessible and consistent. With virtual therapy, there are no transportation costs, no parking fees, and no time spent commuting. You never have to worry about weather conditions or missing a session because you’re feeling under the weather. You can simply log in and receive support from the comfort and safety of your home or workplace.
What provinces are you licensed in?
I am licensed to provide therapy in Alberta and Ontario.
What forms of therapy do you provide?
I use several evidence based approaches and tailor them to your needs. My preferred method is EMDR, and I also offer:
Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)
Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
Ego State Therapy
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
What is EMDR?
EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a therapy method designed to help your brain process and heal from difficult or traumatic experiences. When something overwhelming happens, the brain sometimes stores the memory in a way that keeps the distress active. EMDR uses guided bilateral stimulation, like eye movements or tapping, to help your brain reprocess the memory so it becomes less triggering and more grounded in the past. The experience is often faster and more effective than traditional talk therapy for trauma, anxiety, and other emotional challenges.
What is the ideal frequency of sessions?
Most people attend therapy weekly or bi weekly. The number of sessions depends on the issue you are working through, how complex it is, and your commitment to the process. You always have full control over the pace of your therapy, and you can choose to end services at any time.
